Chris Blackhurst has been announced as Editor of The Independent, with Simon Kelner stepping down to remain as Editor-in-Chief.
Blackhurst, previously Deputy Editor of The Independent, Independent on Sunday and Daily Express, joins from his award-winning role as City Editor and columnist at the London Evening Standard.
